Baker McKenzie Signs Global AI Deal With LEVERTON

Global law firm Baker McKenzie has struck a worldwide framework agreement to make use of German legal and property AI company Leverton’s document analysis software.

In a statement Baker McKenzie said its global real estate practice will use Leverton’s software to enhance and accelerate its legal due diligence processes for reviewing lease agreements.

This, it is hoped, will provide direct access to structured legal data within Leverton’s ‘smart data platform’. It is also hoped that this will allow Baker McKenzie to offer its clients higher transparency and improved efficiency during property transactions.

Florian Thamm, Chair of the EMEA Real Estate of Baker McKenzie said: ‘We are re-designing how we deliver legal services in a way that makes most sense for our clients. By using cutting edge software like Leverton, we enhance quality and efficiency. The agreement is a good example of increasing the capacity, reliability and efficiency in real estate due diligence tasks, and expands our corporate real estate solutions capabilities.’

The deal is a positive step toward increasing Leverton’s law firm client base, which for some time has tended to focus on property businesses and investors. The German AI company has also focused more recently on building relationships with non-legal businesses, such as German data giant SAP.
