ROSS Intel Partners with Canada’s Vector Institute for AI Research

Legal AI pioneer, ROSS Intelligence, has announced an official partnership with Canada’s Vector Institute For AIJimoh Ovbiagele, ROSS CTO and Co-founder, will be joining its Advisory Group.

The Vector Institute, based in Toronto – where the ROSS team first started before moving to the US – has the goal of helping to build and maintain Canada’s position on the scientific forefront of AI and was launched in 2017 with funding commitments of $135m.

While Cambridge and London in the UK, and northern California in the US, are well-known centres for legal AI work, Toronto is also a major centre for legal tech innovation, including several AI companies, such as Kira Systems and Diligen. This move further cements the city’s reputation in the legal AI field.

The legal AI company said that the Vector’s private sector partners include corporate giants and AI leaders such as Google, Uber and NVIDIA. The Vector Institute is led by Garth Gibson and guided by some of the best AI minds in the world including Geoffrey Hinton, the ‘Godfather of Deep Learning’, Richard Zemel and Raquel Urtasun, among many others they added.
