NetDocuments Starts Integrations With Legal AI Powerhouse Kira + SeeUnity

Legal data platform NetDocuments has announced a joint technology integration with legal AI company Kira Systems as well as SeeUnity – a system that allows firms to bring documents directly into other business software for easy collaboration.

This they say will provide ‘a simple way to pass NetDocuments’ content to Kira’s artificial intelligence engine for deeper content understanding’.

On a practical level what this means is that customers working inside NetDocuments no longer need to manually move documents to Kira for document review and analysis.

The move follows a NetDocuments integration with one of Kira’s fellow Canadian legal AI competitors, Diligen, last November. It’s also another example of the growing platformization trend sweeping through the legal tech market, where various solutions are coming together to provide a better overall outcome for clients.

This is especially relevant to legal AI tools, which although powerful pieces of technology are ultimately isolated point solutions.

Explaining why the company has done this, Peter Buck, Vice President of Product Strategy at NetDocuments said: ‘This breakthrough integration gives joint customers true best-of-breed functionality – the security and simplicity of NetDocuments’… cloud DMS, the reasoning power of the Kira AI engine, and the efficiency of SeeUnity’s Echo content synchronisation product to integrate both platforms.’

Steve Obenski, Chief Product Officer at Kira, said: ‘This integration will enable lawyers and practice managers to more efficiently manage their workflow for contract review and analysis.’

SeeUnity has built broad relationships across the legal tech sector and with large-scale enterprise tech providers, such as Salesforce, and ubiquitous tech companies such as Microsoft. Its ‘technology alliances’, as it calls them, also include HighQ (now part of Thomson Reuters) and iManage.

Peter Buck, VP Strategy, Netdocuments, will be speaking at the Legal Innovators conference on Friday, 11 October, in London, along with an array of other great speakers from law firms, in-house legal teams and legal tech companies. For more info please follow the link below.
