Legal services business (LSB), Eversheds Sutherland, has today announced the further global expansion of its Konexo process cruncher group as it moves into the US. The American wing will operate under the leadership of Carmen L. Brun, who previously practised in the firm’s Securities Enforcement & Litigation team. They’ll be competing with other LSBs with a strong process focus, such as Elevate and UnitedLex, which are already well-established in the US market.
Brun will now be responsible for the development and delivery of Konexo’s strategy and services in the US, and works closely with Graham Richardson, Head of Konexo, on coordinating global matters and overall strategy.
(If you want to learn more about Konexo and its ethos, then check out this interview with Richardson in Artificial Lawyer.)
Konexo will be offering:
- litigation services;
- due diligence and regulatory research services;
- contract analysis; commercial contracting;
- financial services investigations and remediation;
- interim resourcing; consulting;
- and global legal entity management – with plans to expand and diversify service offerings in tandem with client needs.
Brun said: ‘Our offering stands out through the innovative use of people, processes, and technology to provide our clients with customised, flexible solutions. I am excited to be leading this new venture in the US and working with Graham as Konexo expands into the US market.’
Richardson added: ‘With presences in the UK, Asia and now the US, we can draw upon our local market knowledge to create bespoke solutions to support our clients’ changing business needs in the short and long term.’
The US launch comes after opening new offices in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in 2019.
Is this a big deal? For Konexo, yes, as the US is the largest legal market in the world and there is huge opportunity for growth there. And, more broadly, it’s a further sign that there is growing demand for LSBs with process crunching capabilities – and that is a very welcome sign.
