American Legal Tech Awards 2021 – The Finalists

The American Legal Tech Awards for 2021 has announced the finalists for its latest iteration. Those making the shortlist include: David Wang, Chief Innovation Officer at Wilson Sonsini, and tech companies Neota Logic and Athennian.

The awards began accepting nominations in May and closed them on August 31. Then 24 judges (see below) deliberated during the month of September. This has resulted in the following shortlist of finalists:

In total, they received 184 nominations, four more than last year, in eight categories, which span areas such as: the courts, innovation in law firms, startups, and access to justice.

Tom Martin, co-founder of the awards, said: ‘I am very pleased with the exceptional level of talent that has participated this year. Sequels are not always better than the original, but in this case I think we have met the challenge.’

He added that in terms of who has reached the finals: ‘We stay committed to honouring those making a difference, with our mission to hold up examples of excellence in creative innovation and technology in the legal industry for the purposes of (1) expanding our understanding of what is possible, (2) encouraging a virtuous cycle of improvement, and (3) creating a more just society.’

The ultimate winners will be announced by video, beginning November 1, 2021. Good luck to everyone!
