Linklaters Launches Lawyers On Demand Service With ‘Re:link’

Global law firm, Linklaters, has today launched Re:link, a new platform for experienced contract lawyers, in what is another interesting move in the NewLaw sector – which seems to have exploded with life recently.

The firm said that the Re:link community, which will draw significantly (but not exclusively) from the firm’s extensive alumni network, offers clients and practices broader access to expertise and connects lawyers with high profile legal experience while working flexibly. Re:link will initially operate in the UK with a view to expanding the offering to other regions.

The global firm added that Re:link is ‘distinguished from other offerings in the market, with a strong focus on quality of legal experience, supported by a sophisticated platform infrastructure’ – although LOD would possibly argue they also have this.

This is another sign that the NewLaw world is on fire at present, with ‘traditional’ law firms and business models seeing both challenges and opportunities across a wide range of options, from better use of tech, to the development of new processes, and a more flexible and agile approach to staffing.

As readers will note, earlier this morning, LOD, the pioneer of flexible lawyering, just bought out Australian legal ops group lexvoco – in another sign of market change.

Gideon Moore, Firmwide Managing Partner explained: ‘We recognise that the needs of our clients are changing. Re:link, our contract lawyer platform and a key component of our legal operations toolkit, will enable Linklaters to operate in an agile way and allow us to meet our clients’ needs efficiently in a fast-changing and fast-moving environment. As with any offering to clients, the aim is to provide the highest quality of service in a way that absolutely works for their business.’

Mark Higgs, COO of Re:link, added: ‘Re:link’s clear alignment with Linklaters reflects the firm’s strong commitment to its client and people agenda. Establishing Re:link at the centre of the firm’s focus on legal operations is a clear differentiator for clients and lawyers alike. We are there to provide both with a best in class offering and an absolute commitment to quality and efficiency.’
