LegalOn Launches Personalized AI Review Playbooks + Demo

LegalOn has launched ‘My Playbooks’, allowing lawyers to use its AI to review and redline contracts using their business’s own unique standards and language. Below is a Product Walk Through of how it works and what it can do for inhouse teams.

My Playbooks is prefigured to handle both US and English law contracts. It has four core features:

  • Custom Standards: Build guidelines aligned with your organization’s requirements, add context like model language and fallback positions, and organize them into playbooks for consistent review across your team.
  • AI-Assisted Review: Instantly assess incoming contracts and redlines with pass-fail indicators and clickable references to the source or suggested locations.
  • Automated Redlining: LegalOn’s AI makes precise, surgical redlines of problematic terms with your preferred language.
  • Layer for complete coverage: Apply multiple playbooks at once and combine with LegalOn’s collection of ready-to-use playbooks, ensuring complete coverage without months of playbook development.

The company, which has raised $130m and has over 6,500 clients globally, said that the launch marks ‘a significant expansion in LegalOn’s capabilities’. My Playbooks also combines with LegalOn’s expert-drafted playbooks, they added.

My Playbooks is live for all LegalOn customers as part of their subscription. The company will also provide services to help legal teams build and document their playbook collection.

CEO Lewis concluded: ‘Legal teams spend countless hours reviewing contracts for the same issues, like indemnification, limits on liability, and payment terms. My Playbooks solves this by automatically spotting problematic terms and revising them. It’s easy to use, and remarkably powerful.’

The move comes at a time of considerable interest in developing playbooks in conjunction with AI doc review capabilities, and especially for the inhouse world where a range of similar contracts are handled on a near continual basis.

Allowing lawyers to not just use AI to review, but compare results, redline and replace text precisely based on your own playbooks that set out your business’s requirements and standards, can potentially provide a major productivity leap.

In a survey LegalOn conducted, and published in AL last week, the company found a growing number of inhouse teams now using AI for contract review, suggesting that the technology – especially with the arrival of genAI – is gaining traction now in ways it hadn’t in the past.
