Following rapidly increasing growth among its US client list, Juro, the contract automation platform, is opening in the US for the first time with a base in Boston.
The UK-based company, which launched in 2016, will be hiring for multiple roles in the US, particularly in customer success and sales. London-based colleagues from multiple teams will also relocate to the US.
In short, they’re really going for it.
Artificial Lawyer spoke to CEO and co-founder of Juro, Richard Mabey, about the move:
How does if feel to make this major step?
‘It’s a big moment for us. We remain bullish on the UK given AI engineering talent and its reputation as a legal centre of excellence. That said, the US is 10x larger and to really establish a leadership position boots on the ground becomes critical.’
How has client demand driven this?
‘AI usage [of our capabilities] has grown 5x in 5 months, and that is consistent across geographies. This gives a lot of confidence in the traction we can generate in the US. We have actually had customers in the US for multiple years but this has increased over the last couple of years quite a bit.’
And why Boston?
‘Boston is good from the perspective of time zone for our London HQ, it has a large amount of commercial talent (home of Hubspot) and is competitive in terms of pay. New York has become exceptionally expensive, and we plan to scale up the team quite a bit.’

Currently Juro serves more customers in the US than in any other country, with more than a third of its customer base located there – a proportion which is rapidly increasing, they said. Juro’s US customers include: Pfizer, Velocity Global, WeWork, Justworks, Encora and QuantumScape.
The expansion also comes at a time of notable genAI-based momentum for the company, following the release of a number of new features, including AI Extract and AI Assistant. And, as mentioned elsewhere in AL recently, the acclimatisation among inhouse lawyers with using AI tools for contract review and management is seeing a steady acceleration.
