Veritext Ramps Up ADR Push With JAMS Hire

Veritext, the court-reporting business that is steadily ‘rolling-up’ a mass of smaller groups in the US, is now pushing heavily into ADR after three M&A deals and today announcing the hire of Matthew York, who was VP Operations + Innovation at JAMS, to lead the push.

He has focused on AI utilization, operational efficiency and global development in the international dispute resolution area.

The hire comes after the hyper-acquisitive Veritext bought three ADR-related businesses. The first acquisition of Upchurch Watson White & Max (UWWM) was completed in early 2023, followed by the acquisitions of The McCammon Group and Resolute Systems at various points in 2024.

And those moves follow literally dozens, yep, dozens of acquisitions of small court reporting and related services teams all across America.

Adam Koetter, Senior Vice President, Commercial Initiatives, told this site: ‘These strategic moves [into ADR] highlight Veritext’s ongoing commitment to addressing the evolving needs of the legal industry. The timing of these acquisition announcements was aligned with Veritext’s broader vision of seamlessly integrating alternative dispute resolution services into its existing suite of offerings. This ensured that both the strategic framework and strong leadership were in place to effectively incorporate ADR into the company’s portfolio.’

Rich Antoneck, CEO of Veritext, said: ‘Expanding into ADR is an instrumental step in Veritext’s journey to delivering unparalleled legal support. By leveraging Matthew’s impressive track record and the capabilities of UWWM, The McCammon Group and Resolute Systems, we aim to offer innovative, client-centered solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the dispute resolution process. Matthew’s leadership will ensure seamless integration of these acquisitions and the execution of a unified strategy to establish Veritext as a preeminent force in ADR.’

‘I am thrilled to join this impressive organization and look forward to contributing to their mission of transforming the legal support landscape with first-class ADR services. The addition of ADR capabilities is a perfect fit to the company’s expert legal technology and solutions portfolio,’ York concluded.
