Centari, the AI-powered deal insights platform, has raised $14m in total – with $8.4m gained now via a Series A funding round. The New York-based startup will use the capital to invest in R&D and hiring to scale Centari’s suite of products for dealmakers, they said.
The company, whose team includes former lawyers from Kirkland & Ellis, Davis Polk, and Paul Hastings, underlined that Centari and its Deal Intelligence Platform provide a new level of insight into ‘high-stakes transactions’.
It does this by moving ‘beyond the capabilities of generalized productivity tools relying on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) or user-driven prompt engineering’. Instead, they said that it uses ‘orchestration methods and proprietary document processing’ along with a ‘Deal Reasoning Engine’ to transform complex transactional documents into structured insights.
Kevin Walker, CEO and founder of Centari, commented: ‘Generic AI products fall short when billions of dollars are on the line and precision is non-negotiable. Our vision for Deal Intelligence is to empower firms to harness information on a scale that was never possible before, delivering rich insights to the right place at the right time to accelerate transactions.’

The funding round is one of a flood of fresh investments into the legal tech world, especially for companies focused on leveraging AI. It also underlines a growing interest in using genAI to tap legal data – of all kinds, but here deal data – to help make lawyers’ lives easier and to gain deeper insights that will help inform new transactions.
Jeremy Kranz, Managing Partner at Sentinel Global, one of the investors whose previous investments include DoorDash, Coinbase and Zoom, added: ‘At Sentinel Global we back category-leading teams who transform industries. Centari’s domain-specific intelligence in a massive market is exactly what drew us to lead this round.
‘Centari is the first platform that actually thinks like an experienced deal lawyer, because it was built by an experienced deal team. Generic AI can draft emails, but can’t close deals. Other legal AI tools require constant prompting and still produce inconsistent results. Centari delivers attorney-level precision on billion-dollar transactions automatically.’
The round was led by Sentinel Global with participation from GTMfund, South Park Commons, Alt Capital, RiverPark Ventures, Recall Capital, and strategic partners in the fintech and legal industries.
