Eve Bags $103m, Hits $1bn+ Valuation

Eve, a pioneer in helping small and medium size law firms with plaintiff work by leveraging genAI, has raised $103m in Series B funding, at over a $1 billion valuation. The round was led by Spark Capital, with participation from existing major investors Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Menlo Ventures. They have raised $164m in total so far.

This move, as well as several others in this space, show that the ‘Small Law Empowerment movement’ is really taking off now – and all driven by AI.

What is also noteworthy is that although we have got used to seeing companies such as Harvey amass huge war chests of VC cash, it’s mostly for the Big Law world. But we are now seeing huge rounds in the Small to Mid-Size legal tech world as well. Plus, there was of course the massive raise by Clio last year – which serves many small firms as well, and then its M&A deal with vLex. (And, it’s worth adding that we are seeing such large investments now into legal tech, on such a regular basis, that this is becoming ‘normal’….which is really a change from the past.)

Eve said it had added over 350 new law firms as customers in just 8 months, bringing its total customer base to over 450 firms. The platform now processes more than 200,000 legal cases annually and has helped firms collectively recover over $3.5 billion in settlements and judgments, they added.

The company said that ‘Eve’s architecture is designed to be agile, allowing it to harness the latest breakthroughs from the AI industry, rigorously validate them for legal accuracy, and deploy them to clients’. I.e. they are not standing still and will provide lawyers with every major advance in LLM technology.

Some of what they can do.

Jay Madheswaran, CEO and co-founder of Eve, commented: ‘Plaintiff firms fight for fairness against corporations with endless resources. This is no longer about keeping pace; it’s about seizing the upper hand. Firms must become AI-Native, reimagining their entire practice to out-manoeuvre the competition and deliver transformative wins for their clients. With this funding, we’ll arm them to do just that.’
