Nexl Bags $23m, Will Invest In Hires + Acquisitions

Nexl, the legal go-to-market and CRM platform, has gained $23m in Series B funding led by Tidemark Capital.

The Australia-based business, which started in 2018 and has bases in the US and UK, said that the funding will go towards ‘the development of its AI-powered growth platform’ and to ‘further advance its acquisition strategy and new leadership appointments’.

Last year Nexl bought Databall, a legal business data platform, and prior to that in 2022 they also bought Jade, a customer success company.

Nexl operates as a very broad platform (see image below) and unites ‘marketing and business development, and operations, into a single growth engine’. More than 150 law firms, including among the AmLaw 100, are customers.

Philipp Thurner (pictured), Founder and CEO of Nexl, commented: ‘By partnering with Tidemark, Nexl gains not just capital, but also access to a playbook and community that has powered some of the most successful vertical SaaS companies in the world.

‘When every lawyer is empowered to contribute to growth, and BD and marketing step into their rightful place as strategic partners rather than support functions, firms unlock their true potential. This investment reinforces our role as the long-term growth partner for law firms ready to elevate how they operate and compete.’

Dave Yuan, Founder of Tidemark – and who also previously invested in Clio – added: ‘By fusing relationship intelligence with CRM, Nexl have created a rich user experience that occupies a true control point in the industry. We’re thrilled to partner with Nexl for the long haul as they continue to become the go-to platform for law firms globally.’

Congrats to the Nexl team. You can find more about the company here.
