PE Fund Merges 3 Groups into 1 for Opensity Giant

With the financial backing of private equity fund Renovus Capital Partners, K2 Services, Epiq GBTS and Forrest Solutions have been melded into one managed services giant. The Epiq and Forrest groups were bought late last year. The new entity will be called Opensity Solutions.

The long and the short of it is this: Opensity brings together 4,500+ professionals, 500+ clients and operates with $400M+ in combined annual revenue.

Its operations span the globe, with employees in the US, Canada, India and the Philippines, they said.

And, ‘the formation of Opensity was backed by Renovus Capital Partners, whose strategic capital will accelerate the company’s ability to invest in technology, talent and M&A to expand capabilities and market reach’.

I.e. this huge new group will likely see even more people added to the mix.

One has to ask: in this age of AI, is getting lots and lots and lots and lots of people altogether for routine work the way to go? Clearly Renovus believes so.

Michelle Deichmeister, CEO of the new entity, commented: ‘Our launch is the culmination of a deliberate strategy to create a single, integrated Managed Services Organisation (MSO) that can transform how legal, financial and professional services firms operate.

‘By combining deep domain expertise with modern workflow automation, AI-predictive analytics and operational intelligence, Opensity gives firms a trusted partner to run their mission‑critical operations and accelerate strategic transformation.’

While Chris Petrini-Poli, Executive Chair of the board, added: ‘Opensity is the MSO the market has been waiting for – a company that pairs scale with technology and the governance to deliver predictable, high‑quality outcomes. We’re working with the most senior leaders across law and professional services to reimagine operating models and capture the value of modernization at scale.’

So, they will be leveraging AI. Let’s see how it goes. But, it has to be said, as noted above, 1,000s of people doing process work seems to be going against the tide……….isn’t it?
