Bonterms, the San Francisco-based standard contracts pioneer, has launched an extension app that allows you to not just sign via Docusign, but also to tap its workflows and contract management capabilities.
Now, Bonterms customers and the counter-party can ‘launch new deals from a Webform, negotiate in Bonterms, sign in Docusign, while agreements and data sync to Navigator automatically’.
Navigator is a facility within Docusign where you can centrally store contracts, manage, and search, as well as analyse these agreements with AI. This is all part of their Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) offering.
CEO, Todd Smithline, commented: ‘You will launch the Docusign app a thousand times this year to sign contracts. Sitting across the table from you, your customer, partner or vendor will do the same.
‘Your deal may be about anything, but Docusign is where you will meet your counterparty to make it real. Auditable, secure, enforceable and always correct at billions of contracts scale, it is no mistake that Docusign is where everyone you do business with goes to sign.’
He added that Bonterms has been working with Docusign for over two years and that this has all led to the new extension app for IAM.
In turn, this connects with Bonterms’ collection of standard documents and playbooks, including the full family of Bonterms Standard Agreements: NDAs, Professional Services, SaaS, Software License, DPA, BAA and Climate Addendum.
And in terms of how it works, they explained:
- ‘Send: Anyone inside or outside your org can launch a new Bonterms deal via Docusign Webforms. No login required.
- Agree: Your counterparty reviews and agrees to the Standard Agreement using Bonterms’ Auto-Accept Alternatives and Standard Playbooks.
- Sign: The deal closes in Docusign. Signed agreements and structured data sync back to Navigator.’
Is this a big deal?
Well, it adds an extra level of usability to standard contracts, removing remaining barriers.
This approach is also significant because, as Bonterms noted, you can ‘replace redlines with a guided negotiation [and achieve] average time to agreement for NDAs: in under 5 minutes; [and] commercial contracts: under 20 minutes.’
Add that to the IAM capabilities and now deals can get going a lot faster with plenty of additional contract management options via Docusign.
