Harvey Does 2nd Acquihire, This Time With Lume

Harvey has made its second acquihire after bringing aboard the co-founders of Lume, an AI-powered customer integration platform backed by Y Combinator. In January they made a similar move with Hexus, the product demo company.

And you can see a pattern here: smart founding teams, which have attracted top-tier investors, but whose products have perhaps not scaled…..yet, they make a great hiring opportunity for a company such as Harvey, which is scaling very rapidly now.

Lume started in 2023 and the acquihire will see co-founders Robert Ross and Nebyou Zewde join Harvey’s product and engineering groups, respectively. It’s not known yet what has happened to the rest of Lume’s staff, or if there were any left by the time of this hire. Harvey added that their hires involve just the two co-founders noted here. Moreover, Lume will cease to operate.

As to Lume’s product, this is what it said today on the website: ‘Every B2B software company faces the same problem: customer integrations take forever. Connecting to legacy ERPs, mapping messy data, and writing transformation code consumes months of engineering time and delays time-to-value for customers.

‘We founded Lume with a simple mission: to help software teams ship customer integrations 10x faster with AI. Our team of data engineers has spent years wrestling with Oracle databases, SAP systems, and custom ERPs. We know the pain of manual data mapping, endless schema discovery calls, and generating the same transformation code over and over again.’

‘Lume brings an exceptional focus on integrations work foundational to Harvey’s customer success,’ the legal AI company noted.

Harvey’s CTO Siva Gurumurthy, commented: ‘We said going into this year that we would actively seek out great talent globally, including bringing high quality teams into Harvey. This is our second acquisition this year focused on talent, and we can’t wait to welcome the Lume team to Harvey to help accelerate our Forward Deployed motion to support our customers’

And AL bets that this is not the last acquihire that we will see!
