Legora Buys Graceview For Compliance Needs

Legora is buying Australian startup Graceview, a ‘regulatory horizon scanning platform’. It follows the deal to buy legal research company Qura just a week ago.

With this acquisition, Legora ‘gains the capability to surface regulatory developments the moment they occur, mapped to the jurisdictions and practice areas relevant to each firm or in-house team,’ they said.

Founded three years ago, ‘Graceview monitors tens of thousands of official regulatory sources across 100+ jurisdictions in real time’. On LinkedIn it appeared to have fewer than 20 people.

At the core of the platform is a proprietary global regulatory taxonomy that ‘maps every source to the relevant regulatory area and jurisdiction – delivering structured, high-signal alerts rather than raw information overload. The result is a platform that gives legal, risk, and compliance teams the situational awareness they need to stay ahead of regulatory change, and the means to act on it’.

Max Junestrand, CEO and Co-Founder of Legora, commented: ‘Graceview has spent three years building the infrastructure to solve that. Bringing them into Legora means our customers can move from spotting a regulatory change to acting on it without ever leaving their workflow.’

Jules Ioannidis, Co-Founder and COO of Graceview, added: ‘When I sat down with Max for the first time, it was clear we’d been working on different parts of the same problem. Legora has built the collaborative operating system for legal work. We’ve built the infrastructure that lets teams stay ahead of regulatory change. Joining Legora accelerates our mission and dramatically expands our reach.’

Interesting move, which suggests that Legora is trying to build out its platform now in all directions at the same time. They have the money for it, with all their funding. That’s for sure.

If they keep to these small deals, then we can expect more to come.
