Legal intelligence platform, Chamelio, has launched Agent Hub, which lets inhouse lawyers use a suite of ‘always-on AI agents’ that can work independently, monitor what is happening inside the business, and act when needed.
The approach means that lawyers don’t need to always manually ‘log in, open a matter, run a workflow, or ask an AI a question’ for an agent to roll into action. They are set to run whenever they are needed, with their activities controlled through a central hub, hence the ‘Agent Hub’.
As they explained: ‘Legal teams can now create agents with ongoing responsibilities, much like you would assign work to a member of your team.’

Chamelio added that this means inhouse lawyers can expand what they are able to do, but without having to hire more staff.
The company provided several examples of instructions an always-on agent could be set up to follow:
- Tell me if a contract has been waiting for signature for more than five days.
- Every week, tell me how many agreements were signed, what is still outstanding, and where something appears stuck.
- Watch for this customer hitting its contractual milestone. When it happens, prepare the amendment and send it to me for approval.
- Monitor this regulation and tell me when something changes that affects our obligations.
- Make sure every agreement coming up for renewal is reviewed 60 days in advance.
Once organised, the agents will go and do what they are told to do – and as noted: without someone having to trigger each and every action.
Moreover, they noted that you can get the agents to do things such as ‘observe information across Chamelio and connected systems, reason about what it means, create documents, initiate workflows, request approvals, update data, notify the right people, and determine the next step based on instructions defined by the legal team’.
In short, this goes a very long way beyond the early days of legal AI where lawyers made a prompt, got back an answer, and resumed their work without any other assistance from the AI tools on their desktop.
Alex Zilberman, CEO and co-founder of Chamelio, commented: ‘Legal technology has spent decades giving legal teams better tools. We think the next step is giving them actual capacity.
‘Agent Hub changes the relationship between legal teams and their software. Instead of logging into a system to do the work, you can delegate a responsibility and expect the system to keep it moving. That’s a fundamentally different model for how a legal department can operate.’
And picking up on the point about staffing and inhouse workloads, he added: ‘The real promise of AI isn’t helping lawyers do the same work a little faster. It’s taking work off their plate entirely.’

Also don’t miss the upcoming Chamelio and AL Webinar – On Wednesday, September 16, 4 PM BST, 11 AM ET, 8 AM PT, Chamelio and Artificial Lawyer will be holding a live webinar to explore the increasingly important topic: ‘Why is the Legal AI ROI Conversation Still Broken?’ And where we will also come up with some answers to solve this challenge!
Speakers include:

Overview:
Every legal team can tell you what they spent on their tech stack. Almost none can tell you what it actually bought them.
That’s not for lack of trying. Legal leaders have spent years bolting together dashboards, contract counts, and ‘time saved; estimates to prove the function is more than a cost center. But most of these metrics were never built to measure impact – they were built to justify a purchase. Counting signed contracts or logged hours tells you activity happened. It doesn’t tell you whether legal moved the business forward, reduced risk, or got out of anyone’s way.
This session digs into why that gap exists and why it’s gotten more urgent as legal teams adopt AI. When the tools change but the measurement stays the same, leaders end up defending spend with numbers that don’t hold up in a budget conversation, and legal keeps getting treated like overhead instead of a function that drives outcomes.

We’ll break down:
- Why traditional legal ops metrics (contract volume, turnaround time, tool logins) measure motion, not value
- What ‘impact’ actually looks like when legal is proactive instead of reactive, fewer bottlenecks, faster deal velocity, risk caught before it’s expensive
- How to build a data narrative that connects legal’s work to business outcomes leadership already cares about
- What changes about ROI measurement once AI is doing part of the work and how to avoid just automating the same broken metrics
