Let’s start this Wrap with some news, then a reminder about two great webinars with LegalOn and also Chamelio next week, and then some videos. Plus of course, Legal Innovators UK arrives Nov 4 + 5, and Legal Innovators New York is on Nov 17 + 18.
So, to the news, with several hires and appointments for a change.
- Juro has expanded its Claude connector. Users can now search across document content and smartfields, analyse them for risks or unusual terms – and they can access write and review capabilities too. From a Claude conversation, users can draft a new contract from an approved Juro template, edit an existing document, download a contract to work on elsewhere, and upload a revised file back to Juro as a new version of the same record. And you can also handle incoming third-party contracts, which are triaged; reviewed by AI (according to the intake rules the legal team has configured); then routed to the correct approver, they said.
- Consilio and Legora have formalised their partnership after a year of working together. Consilio implements Legora for law firms and corporate legal departments, integrating the platform into existing matters, precedent databases, and review workflows. It also provides workflow design, integration, governance, training, and adoption support to help legal teams effectively deploy and operationalise, they added.
- Latitude Legal, a flexible legal talent company, has made Alex Su its President. Su joined Latitude in 2024 as Chief Revenue Officer and has overseen rapid growth since then, they said. As President, Su will lead the company’s commercial and talent functions that support its 20 offices and oversee the continued expansion of its Partner team and local presence in additional markets. Congrats mate! That was a great lunch in San Francisco this summer – see you next year.
- Flex Legal, the ALSP owned by Mishcon de Reya, has hired Rachel Murphy as its new CEO. Murphy joins from Consilio, where she held the role of managing director at Lawyers on Demand for five years. Kate Gaskell, former CEO, will return to her previous position as COO.
- Evan Shenkman has joined legal sector PR, marketing, and business development group B+B as a partner. Most recently, he was chief knowledge and innovation officer at US law firm Fisher Phillips.
- Freshfields has hired Ram Komarraju to be its Chief Information Officer. He joins from CLS, a global financial market infrastructure group.
- Luminary, a wealth transfer and administration platform for financial advisors, trust companies, law firms and accounting firms, has raised $22 million in Series A funding led by Ten Coves Capital.
- Vanderbilt Law School and AltaClaro will offer its DepoSim legal training tool as part of the school’s AI Law Lab initiative. Students will gain this hands-on experience using AI to develop practical deposition skills either by taking Vanderbilt’s Legal Practice Technology course and other clinical courses, as well as by independent access through the Vanderbilt Law Library, they noted.
- Blee, a marketing compliance platform, has announced a $20 million Series A.
- PSA has bought Sandline Germany GmbH, an established specialist in iManage solutions and services for law firms and corporate legal departments. The transaction covers Sandline Germany only. PSA acquired the company from Sandline Global, the US-headquartered parent business, which is not part of the transaction and continues independently as an eDiscovery-focused legal tech firm, they explained. PSA is a European legal tech expert firm with offices in Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Warsaw, Amsterdam, and Helsinki.
