Former Greenberg Traurig partner, Luis Salazar, is to launch a consulting business advising law firms on the adoption of legal AI, as well as cybersecurity compliance and project management techniques.
Florida-based Salazar is the name partner of bankruptcy and commercial litigation boutique Salazar Law and was an early adopter of US legal AI research system ROSS. The firm was also one of the smallest firms to make use of legal AI technology, which Artificial Lawyer covered recently when the firm was branded as Salazar Jackson.
The new legal AI, cyber security and project management advisory offering will be called Sword & Quill Consultants and will continue in parallel with the law firm.
‘The legal industry is in the midst of a profound disruption that will deeply impact the established ways law firms operate. Sword & Quill will help us share what we’ve learned about confronting and overcoming these daunting changes,’ said Salazar.
Salazar’s firm has sought to counter the idea that smaller firms cannot compete with ‘Big Law’ firms, in part through adopting new legal technology, such as ROSS, which has helped greatly with US bankruptcy research on client matters.
He added: ‘Salazar Law is a small boutique on purpose. But we are known for handling the same complex commercial and business matters as our Big Law competitors. We’ve accomplished that by improving the way we work.’
