Lexis Leverages Henchman to Launch Create+ In MS 365

LexisNexis has today formally released Lexis Create+, a personalised legal drafting solution that works in Microsoft 365. It is now available in the UK, Canada and the USA. It leverages the company’s recent acquisition, Henchman.

The company explained that: ‘Lexis Create+ is designed to meet legal professionals where they work, delivering everything needed to draft high-quality legal documents in one place. This powerful solution transforms legal drafting by integrating cutting-edge AI, trusted LexisNexis content, and access to shared internal knowledge at the user’s fingertips – all within the Microsoft 365 environment.’

Or, to put it another way: ‘It combines the proofreading tools of Lexis Create, with the new DMS integration and the AI-powered drafting capabilities from the Lexis+ AI assistant into a single, powerful legal drafting experience within Microsoft Word.’

Here’s an overview:

  • ‘Document Management System (DMS): Lexis Create+ uses proprietary technology to link internal documents with drafting workflows making it easy to find and reuse past clauses and definitions – no matter how they have been saved and tagged. Lexis Create+ connects to a wide range of document management systems, including iManage, NetDocuments, SharePoint, Google, and more.
  • Seamless access to trusted content: Lexis Create+ provides instant access to subscribed LexisNexis content within Microsoft Word.  With embedded generative AI features, users have everything they need to draft brilliant legal documents quickly and confidently.
  • Integrated AI capabilities: Lexis Create+ delivers a seamless, distraction-free drafting workflow in Microsoft Word, with Lexis+ AI generative AI capabilities built right in. Users can generate high-quality legal drafts, summarise complex case law and documents, and receive precise answers to legal queries—all within Microsoft Word.
  • Data privacy and security: Lexis Create+ prioritises data privacy and security with advanced encryption and robust permission mirroring, safeguarding confidentiality and ensuring compliance at every step.’

Nice to see that the Henchman acquisition is proving useful. After all, your own work product is the best data you’ll ever get your hands on (or at least that’s the idea…) …..if you can ever find the right documents and the text you need!
