After yesterday’s double reveal, Harvey is announcing the arrival of Contract Intelligence, which is especially made for inhouse lawyers. It has a waitlist for early access, with general availability in Q3.
As with the Command Center project it was co-designed with customers to give them what they want, the legal AI platform said.
Here’s what it can do:
- ‘Accelerate intake and contract reviews – Streamline intake, triage, and contract review workflows so legal teams can spend less time on routine markups and more time on strategic work.
- Negotiate from stronger positions – Surface fallback positions, clause language, and negotiation patterns from prior agreements, while automatically updating playbooks as new contracts are signed.
- Operate with portfolio-wide visibility – Provide visibility into contract trends, negotiated positions, outlier provisions, and upcoming obligations to help teams better manage risk and support the business.’
Is this a big deal?
Well, it’s got a distinctly modern CLM-ish feel to it. And that’s not an accident. Harvey is going very heavily into the inhouse world, just as several of its rivals are. Why? Because there are way more inhouse legal teams at large companies globally than there are Big Law firms.
Also there is an added bonus, as noted earlier today, (see AL story), inhouse teams clearly put pressure on their law firm advisers to use the same legal AI companies they use – at least where that is possible. So, an inhouse win can later help to convert a law firm win.
In short, building out an inhouse client base – which they’ve already done to a large extent – makes strategic and financial sense. The one drawback here is that many inhouse teams may not have much in the way of internal legal tech support, which puts the weight of deployment help very much onto Harvey.

P.S. in other Hargorasphere news, Legora has announced that it’s hired Zeynep Inanoglu Ozdemir as Chief Marketing Officer. Previously she was CMO at Atlassian, and was in a similar role before that at Palo Alto Networks. Congrats to her. Question: do you get to hang out with Jude Law if you’re their CMO?
