LawGeex Founders Launch Superlegal NewMod Firm

Noory Bechor, the Israel-based legal AI pioneer who co-founded LawGeex – but later saw the company broken up and sold off – has now launched with long-time collaborator Ilan Admon a NewMod law firm focused on construction needs.

The regulated AI-first law firm, which is part of their Superlegal brand, will be based in Utah, operating under the special rules there, and work with SMBs. Meanwhile Superlegal, the wider contract review business, was launched back in 2023 with funding that included investment from Tom Glocer.

Superlegal reviews and redlines commercial contracts ‘in under 24 hours for as low as $117 per contract, with a licensed attorney signing off on every review,’ they said.

The addition of a formally regulated ‘law firm’ in Utah allows Superlegal to handle those elements of contracting that would likely be classed as providing legal services. Back when LawGeex was still operating, they also had an alternative style legal structure in Utah.

Bechor commented: ‘Most legal AI companies sell tools to lawyers, and the lawyers still bill clients $500 an hour. We’re the next generation of law firms. We built our AI from the ground up to specialize in legal practice, with an attorney in the loop. The Utah license means a construction firm can hire us, full stop. No traditional firm in the middle.’

David Fitzhugh, Director of Contract Strategy and Dispute Solutions at Western Partitions Incorporated, added: ‘We are probably spending a tenth of the cost that we did with outside legal, and 85 to 90 percent of contracts are turned around in 24 hours. I’ve never waited more than two days for a contract review – I cannot say the same thing about outside legal counsel.’

Based on customer outcomes to date, Superlegal cuts legal review costs by 90% and deal cycles by 70%. This efficiency comes from the platform’s proprietary AI, which was trained specifically for legal document analysis, they added.

Congrats to the team. Nice to see the former LawGeex crew still building!
