LexisNexis has selected Denmark-based Document Drafter to deliver its automated documents to customers globally after an evaluation of multiple platforms. The startup also built a converter that handled the migration of the huge LexisNexis template library.
Although there will be no separate branding of Document Drafter for this feature, it’s a big deal because the LexisNexis library of automated templates has been built up over decades and includes more than 25,000 templates across key jurisdictions.
In terms of how it will work, law firms will use this directly within LexisNexis. Once a template is selected, Document Drafter ‘takes over the experience through to the generation of the document. LexisNexis customers will get the same experience as a Document Drafter customer – although this will feel completely seamless and they will not notice any platform shift’.
Michael Bjerg Hansen, Co-founder & CEO, told Artificial Lawyer: ‘This was done by building a 100% automated converter and took a little more than a year to complete. I believe this is the largest migration out of a legacy document automation platform ever done.
‘The conversion now has been completed, and the new offering powered by Document Drafter is rolling out to customers gradually over the next few weeks.’
Congrats to Michael and team.
