Right, now some news, then a great webinar that is coming up with Spellbook, and after that not one, or two….but four AL TV videos. And as always the news is in super-summarised fashion.

Thomson Reuters has launched ‘Multinational Profile’, a new capability that brings legal content from more than 100 countries and territories into a single CoCounsel Legal workflow. It helps legal teams research cross-border legal and compliance questions.

NetDocuments has rolled out six new AI-powered applications for ndMAX Studio, expanding its growing library of legal workflows and bringing the Studio catalog to 45 pre-built apps. The new ones include: the Fund Terms and Side Letter Management App, which extracts and organises key provisions across fund documentation and side letters, helping legal teams track obligations, exceptions, and investor-specific terms; and also the VC Financing Definitive Terms Reconciliation App, which compares executed financing documents against negotiated term sheets to identify changes and unresolved issues before transactions close.

Sirion has announced a strategic alliance with Big Four firm Deloitte to ‘help global enterprises modernize contract management through AI’. Combining Deloitte’s legal business transformation expertise with Sirion’s AI-powered contract lifecycle management platform will ‘streamline contracting, strengthen supplier management and improve visibility into contractual obligations and performance,’ they said.

Carta, the AI-native ecosystem for private capital, as they describe themselves, has received authorisation to operate as a fully licensed Specialised Professional of the Financial Sector (PSF) under the supervision of the CSSF in Luxembourg. This matters because Luxembourg is the second-largest fund domicile in the world, home to approximately 5,000 alternative investment fund entities managing over €1 trillion in assets, alongside over 1,000 US and APAC fund managers running parallel or feeder structures in Luxembourg.

US law firm Morgan Lewis has launched an AI Leadership Council with a dual mission to accelerate adoption of AI within the firm and work with clients on AI-related needs. It will work closely with Firm Chair, David McManus; the global leadership team; and the firm’s AI Steering Committee, to shape priorities and guide the firm’s AI efforts.

Control Risks, the strategic intelligence group, is to spin off its Discovery + Data Insights and Forensics businesses to create a new, stand-alone company.

Leela, a new startup focused on compliance, has raised $4.6 million in a round co-led by Array Ventures and Female Founders Fund. Founder and CEO Preeti Krishnan was an attorney at leading US law firm Davis Polk before senior roles at DailyPay and Kafene.

Now, let’s tell you about a new webinar with Spellbook.

On Thursday, October 29 at 12:00 PM, ET – Spellbook’s CEO, Scott Stevenson, and Artificial Lawyer, will be holding a live demo and discussion all about the company’s new Automated Contract Management system. RSVP here.

Overview

Legal teams are still handling contracts the way they did twenty years ago. Page by page, in email, in folders nobody can search. CLM tools were supposed to fix that, but they were built before AI could do the actual work.

In this session, Scott Stevenson and Richard Tromans will discuss the future of Contract AI and what it means for legal teams, followed by Scott’s first live demo of Autonomous Contract Management (ACM).

Bring your questions, we’ll leave time to answer them live.

What you’ll learn and see:

  • Scott and Richard’s take on the future of AI for contracts
  • The problem ACM solves, and why CLMs never came close
  • A live walkthrough of Spellbook ACM from intake to renewal
  • Live Q&A with Scott and Richard

Join us live on Thursday, October 29 at 12:00 pm ET – RSVP here.

And now the AL TV videos, which cover:

  • Interview with former Goodwin and Kirkland partner, Leon Johnson, on why he’s joining an AI-native new model law firm.
  • How Legatics and Harvey are working together to provide a unified deal experience for lawyers.
  • What Steno is now able to do with AI via its new Litigation Genius capability.
  • And why Decision Systems, such as Jev and OpenAI’s new offering, are so useful, especially in eDiscovery and first-pass contract review – with Litigaze CEO, Len Hickey.
